Comment:

i've recently got a refurbed powerbook and it came with osx and 9.2.2 installed, plus osx jaguar on disk. i tried to install jaguar and it crashed about halfway through, then the question mark folder came up on restart, i managed to reboot osx after 2 days of trying, and then decided to try and use the rstore cds, but at the end of the first cd it said, cannot restore restricted-segment image. my powerbook doesnt always show up the disks that came with it (it shows every other cd i have from a previous imac) when i try to reinstall os9 it says
error - 36 occured, so all i can have at the moment is osx, can anyone help???

Reply:

Boot from the 10.2 installer and wipe out the hard disk, preferably into two partitions.

Reinstall Jaguar on one partition.

Boot from an OS 9 CD and install OS 9.2.2 on the other partition.
