Is there any way of changing the name of the Hard Disk on an Apple PowerBook Duo 280c Desktop from e.g. "Fred Bloggs" to "John Smith"? Thank you.

from an apple tech yes in the system perf under sharing the computer name you can rename the harddrive by duble clicking on it, but you run the risk of stating a new account your old stuff will still be there under libray under your old name, hope this helps

you have to STOP file sharing before it will let you change the name. put a space in front of the HD's name and keep it short. this makes it appear at the top of lists. handy dandy when looking for it.
