Comment:

I have a powerbok g3 that takes a LONG TIME to
boot up. Actually it boots fine but it takes at least
one minute from the time i turn it on until the hard
drive and screen initialize.

Upon searching google i have found that it is
normal and that you can help this by turning off
the startup memory check, but it is already turned
off... any suggestions???

What PowerBook G3 is it? There were four of them...

The KBase has an article explaining the differences and
telling you how to ID them if you aren't sure.

Yeah, but they're similar enough that it shouldn't matter
;)

128 MB RAM shouldn't be enough to cause any
noticeable delays on boot. Is that the original 128 MB,
or have you added some since you got it? If so, try
removing it. You might have a faulty RAM module.

Also, update to 9.2.2 and see if that helps at all, and
make sure you re-select your startup disk in the Startup
Disk control panel.

Geeeesh. 32 MB? You gotta get more RAM. I'm
surprised 9.x is running *at all*.

Hit RAMSeeker.com and get a couple 256MB modules
and see if that doesn't cure the problem.

Go back to reply #3, and the 9.2.2 update is a free
download.
