What about a ram upgrade on an old powerbook 1400? Would that help the performance?. This lady has one she got for $20 and it only has 16mgs of ram. If the ram is upgraded, could she play arcade games & write letters? It can be upgraded to 64 mgs according to the tech sheet at apple. It is very very slow as it, it leaves "trailers" for lack of a better word. Also, can I hook up an external modem to the serial port on that for her and expect it to work?
Thanks

RAM is expensive but well worth it as the 1400s are pretty good PowerBooks.

The modem should work fine.
