I have a Power Macintosh 9500 connected to a NEC
MultiSync P1150 Monitor and now when I power up the
screen does not come on. I have tried resetting PRAM
and also starting up from my CD but neither works. Is
there anything else I can try?

Please provide more info, as "blank screen" is too vague - much like "my car doesn't start. What's wrong?"

Are you getting a startup sound?
Have you tried a different monitor?
Blinking lights and patterns?
Unplug the hard drive?
Replace the RAM?

I do get a start up sound but nothing appears on the screen.
When I push the screen's power button off and on again after
the start up sound, I get a click, click sound but nothing
appears on screen. There are no blinking lights or patterns. I
do not have another monitor to connect to the Mac nor do I
have another computer to connect to the monitor. What do
you mean by unplug the hard drive? I do not know how to
replace RAM. If I was confident the problem was in the
monitor, I could try to find a monitor at the e-recycling
center. Thank you for your interest.

well, considering you get a start up sound and no death chime, you should test the computer with another monitor.

How much ram does this machine have? I have 512mb's and after pressing the keyboard startup key, it takes a good minute or so for the monitor to come out of sleep mode because the 9500/9600 is kinda slow when it comes to checking the ram.

Other than that, could be something simple as a bad pram battery, or bad video card, or the power mac 9500 forgot which slot the video card was plugged into(loss of pram data, ie bad batt.)

Can you hear the HD chugging away as the PM loads the OS?

Finding another monitor isn't hard, I just bought a 21" from a thrift store myself.

PowerMac 9600(1 ghz G4)
512mb RAM
50gb SCSI
ATi 9200 PCI

Thank you for your suggestions. I will try to get another
monitor. I have waited much longer than a minute for the
monitor to kick on. Also I do hear the HD working to load OS
but nothing happens on screen. Hopefully it is just a monitor
problem. I did call an Apple service shop but they said they
cannot get parts for a 9500. Too old. I'll start looking for a used
monitor.
