Hey....I have this Power Mac 6500 which after starting up goes to something called FAMILY EDITION KID DESK....I can't get to a normal desktop no matter what I try...can anyone help me figure this out...thanks.

Restart the mac. As soon as you see the
grey bar under the 'welcome to mac OS'
screen inset start to move hold down the
spacebar. You should eventually come to
the extensions manager. Disable the
LAUNCHER control panel and any
LAUNCHER items you see in the
extensions folder. Mosey on down to
STARTUP ITEMS and there it is 99% likely
you'll find an alias for your FEK app.
Disable it. Continue booting.
If this is a new machine for you I would
suggest initializing the HD and installing
a nice clean fresh copy of 8.6.

Just a quick note to thank you FIERACI...I will get back to you later on a couple of other questions about Mac's...the machine is running fine but yes, I would like to erase and re-install...once again, thank you for your quick and ACCURATE response....Kenny Sellers
