Well guys I´ve been doing alot of reasearch on my next comp to get and am leaning towards a apple computer. Problem is Ive always been a PC guy, so I know what specs I´m looking for in a PC. Now I need my comp mostly for Internet Browsing, Office Suite, and DVD since I´m using for school, but I want some thing that will last me for a good deal of time.

Let's see.

Office: more stable on the Mac.
Browsers: more stable on the Mac, and better standards support.
DVD: a wash; it doesn't matter much which you use.

Your call.

Pickle don't get me wrong I wouldn't give
up office X for any windows version, same
for ie 5.1 and photoshop,I love my mac to
damn much!,but let's face it macs cost
just a wee bit more than the average
everyday mini tower pc!,but if cash isn't a
concern than buy a mac, unless you plan
on playing games alot you'll love it!

You are telling us that all you NEED it for
is ISP/MSoffice/DVD.
What you NEED will probably change
somewhat as time goes by.
And: Getting a mac will make you WANT
to do other things too.

Show me where a PC that performs equivalently to a Mac costs more over the lifetime of the computer.

All I was saying is that macs cost
more!,but the price difference isn't in
vain!,You do get high quality and high
performance out of a mac.....they're the
"aston martin" of computers!

THEY DON'T COST MORE, DAMMIT.

That's like saying "This 250cc motorcycle costs a lot less than this 750cc motorcycle." OF COURSE IT COSTS LESS. BECAUSE IT'S A THIRD AS POWERFUL (roughly. work with me here.)! Or saying "This half-gallon box of ice cream costs less than this 2-gallon bucket of ice cream." Or just about anything else like that.

If you're going to compare, at least compare (no pun intended) apples to apples. Sheesh.
