Can I somehow remove the ROM Chips (if any) and install them into my PC to use SoftMac? I have looked inside of my Mac (Performa PowerPC 6400) and I don't see any ROM chips or the like, am I missing something or am I just not looking hard enough?
Basically, I just need to know where the chip(s) are.

Thank you.

You dont pull the chips out..you use a software utility like 'get-rom' or some such to get the rom code out ,as a file, and then make this file available to your other program..
most emulators, like basilisk2 or fusion pc come with a utility to do this..
simply pulling the chip out would simply irreversably damage the rom code, and you'd never be able to connect the chip elsewhere anyways, as the code interacts with the mac's circuit boared design..
it will work as a 'rom' file, however..

I don't think you could use those ROM files eve if you could get them. Last I saw, Mac emulators were only emulating 68k machines, so you can use Quadra ROMS, but those are the latest.
This could have changed, since I haven't exactly been following Mac emulation too much, but it was the case last I saw.
If you're dead set on having the physical ROMs for legal reasons or something, a Quadra can be found quite cheaply these days.
