Reply: (edit)Okay, what machine are you using as a internet server, or do you use multiple IPs? Whatever service you have, the machine thats hooked to the modem has to be running somekind of internet connection sharing software in order for you to access the internet from other computers on that network. On the mac, if it is slaving off the server, go into the TCP/IP control panel, select connect via "carbbus, ethernet" whatever... Choose DHCP server and you may have to restart. If you are using the mac as the server, than you will have too get somekind of internet sharing software. ICS Please give some more detail about the network.

Reply: (edit)Double-check your Proxy Server settings in your laptop: In IE, Tools, Internet Options..., Connections Tab, LAN Settings Button. Find the section labelled "Proxy Settings". I believe you will find it checked and an address entered. If not, this may be your problem, if its checked and an address is entered, click the Advanced button. Check the "Use the same proxy server for all protocols.
