Okay, what machine are you using as a internet server, or do you use multiple IPs?
Whatever service you have, the machine thats hooked to the modem has to be running somekind of internet connection sharing software in order for you to access the internet from other computers on that network.
On the mac, if it is slaving off the server, go into the TCP/IP control panel, select connect via "carbbus, ethernet" whatever... Choose DHCP server and you may have to restart.
If you are using the mac as the server, than you will have too get somekind of internet sharing software. ICS
Please give some more detail about the network.

Thanx for the reply
My network:
i use a dsl connection
the dsl modem is connected to a router
there is a xbox a powerbook G3 and a powerbook
G4 connected to the router.
The G4 has airport (apple's wlan card)
This airport card is set up as base for the wlan
network.
Then i have a compaq laptop with wlan card with
connects as slave through the mac to the internet.
It works fine, the pc connects to the internet with
even a fast speed, but i cant access https (secure)
sites.Now i wonder why?!?
do u have any clues? internetconnection works
fine only that i cant connect to https sites%00

Double-check your Proxy Server settings in your laptop: In IE, Tools, Internet Options..., Connections Tab, LAN Settings Button. Find the section labelled "Proxy Settings". I believe you will find it checked and an address entered. If not, this may be your problem, if its checked and an address is entered, click the Advanced button. Check the "Use the same proxy server for all protocols.
