Hi elearn,

Switching over to mac is rather easy and getting use to how it does things is dead simple.

Have a read of this thread where nearly every aspect of PC to Mac migration is discussed.

As for the price well you will pay a comparible premium for the unit however that's a choice you make for the switch over.

If you decide to by new I would also recommend paying the extra for the iCare policy plan. It's great peice of mind when buying new.

Stay Smooth.

No you do not have to buy a new O/S every time however Mac is about to launch it's new O/S named Leopard which will replace Tiger. Details are sketchy at the moment but the apple website and forums offer a glimpse as to what it has to offer.

The new O/S is being shipped out sometime in September with all new Mac machines however any machines purchased a month or two before may have a free upgrade voucher offered for the new O/S in lew of not hampering sales up to the lead up to the release...check with your Mac retailer.
