Buy a copy of virtual pc (pc-dos),it includes all the software you need to run dos 2000 on a mac, aswell as letting you install windows(even windows nt)and/or linux. You can even install multiple os's(ex:one dos drive, one linux and one for every version of windows since 95!(free space and ram decide)without doing an actual partition on your macintosh hard drive.
ps:windows/linux os's not included with dos version!

Yeah, spend $200 on something you can get the basic functionality of for free from 10-year-old software that companies don't publish any more.
Somehow the idea of spending $200 on VPC to *learn* DOS strikes me as a bit on the stupid side. But hey, it's not *my* money...
The one without windows cost me $135.00cdn,on ebay you can most likely find it for even less, but also keep in mind connectix offer a 45-day trial version,so you could always download it and practice like mad untill it expires.

I heard about FreeDOS, a *duh* free dos clone. Tha challenge is getting that to work on Macintosh. I know I won't buy Virtual PC just so I can run DOS my machine. MacBochs is good, but when I tried to Windows 95 Setup, it gave me a General Protection Fault. What would be a better FREEWARE solution to MacBochs?

There aren't any good freeware emulators. VPC is pretty much the only game in town.
