There are a lot of very cheap 56K PC modems out there, like the Creative Blaster PCI modem I just bought for my PC for $10. Does anyone know if you can use such a modem with a Mac. Because I'll buy another one for the Mac. But then where would I get the software if the company doesn't have any software for the Mac.

90% of PC modems out there are "Winmodems". Basically, that means that they rely on software in Windows to manage the connection and aren't much more than a means to connect your computer to a phone line. They will not work in a Mac.
If you want a Mac modem, you'll need to buy one that's made for Macs.

...which is to say you'll be buying an external, because no PCI modems are Mac-compatible.
Summary: What is the difference between SCSI hard disk for PC and for MAC. May I buy a 9.1 GB Seagate Baracuda SCSI hard disk for my Power Mac 8500? Any help would be very appreciated.\ Many thanks ngphat...
