I would like to get a PC emulator for a Macintosh LC580 with System 8. I use to have system 5, but thanks to these forums and a very nice person I now have system 8, which has made my mac work alot better. A dos pc emulator will work I have lots of versions of dos and possibly I could install win 95 on it with a dos emulator, mabye. but not win 98, no way for it.... I'd like to network my mac to my pc so it could access the internet through my pc. Thanx in advance.

Try to search for MacBochs.
But I'm sure that running Windows 95 on it will be realy unusual. It will be very slow.
On PowerMac you get about half a speed of your Mac. So on LC580 you can get due to old processor about speed of Petium 10Mhz :-)))

MacBOCHS doesn't run on a 68K.
However, if you only want the emulator for networking purposes, there are far better solutions out there.
For instance, if your PC is running 98 or above, you can turn on Windoze Internet Connection Sharing - ask on the Windoze forum if you're not sure how to do this - and then network the two computers with Ethernet. You might have to buy an Ethernet card for the LC 580, but they're cheap ($10).

Pickle, you are wrong,
MacBOCHS is only x86 Emulator running on 68k macs. But for sharing internet connection, you will need to install on your mac some app alowing it, like Dave. But min requrements for Dave are if I'm not wrong sys 9.1 and PowerPC processor.

And *where* the heck have you found a 68K version of MacBOCHS that actually works?

'nuff said.
An older version of DAVE, or one of its predecessors, will work just fine.
