I'm trying to instal 256M RAM into the upper slot of my bronze G3 PB running os8.6. The RAM always appears as 128M after trying 3 different brands of chip. There is a 64M DIMM in the lower slot.

Can anyone help please?

Sounds like your RAM vendor is sending the wrong module. Tell them you need one for the Lombard or Wallstreet PowerBook, NOT the Pismo PowerBook.

If they don't get it, buy from someone else.

I don't know much about macs but i do know that older boards like my dad's for example will only recognize 128 in each slot for ram.
