I own a mac powerbook 1400. I just got divorced and in the moveing out stage my vindictive Ex changed my password (was used by both) and she refuses to give me the new password and the local dealer can't or won't work on it because she won't give up the paper work either.... any suggestions that would help please e-mail me. Thanks

The password is in HD. start yuor comp
with a external cd. change the system folder
name ej.(old syst.) in you hd. reinstal
system software . and ready

If the password is not set as part of the
MAC OS, this will not work. If it is a third
party security program, you'll probably
have to wipe the hard drive and start over. The easiest way to do this is to boot from
the OS drive, select the initialize option
from Drive Setup, and proceed with the
installation of the OS after this. This sort of situation is EXACTLY why we
run backups to external sources such as
tape drives.,While this may not be the best news that
you were expecting, we all live and learn,
right?Try the solution from Jesse before taking
this drastic step, and feel free to email
me for more info.
