Hi, for some strange reason, the folder that containded the microsoft main identity was renamed (I think it was "applications" "documents," or "application data") and now outlook express 5.0 created a new identity and new folders. The problem is that I lost all my previous emails, addresses, accounts, etc. Is there any easy way to retrieve that data? I tried the "switch identities" option, but it only wants me to either keep the main indentity I have or create a new one. I also tried to import all the messages into this new set of folders, but I did not know how.

I believe all the folders are there because there is a set of them in a "main identity" folder and the inbox file is huge, just like the last time i left it.

Can you rename the original folders back to their proper names and throw out the empty ones that were just created?

Hi, I have no idea what the original name for that folder is. However, I have been looking through the posted messages and other websites and it looks like the original folder name was "Documents"

I will give it a try and see what happens.

I will have to check monday. That's my computer at work. I own a pc and this is the first time I have to work with a mac. That's why I think I'm having these novice problems.
