I'm running a G3 Powerbook Pismo, OS
9.1. My e-mail program is Outlook
Express v5.0.4. Two nights ago while
downloading messages Outlooks
Express crashed on me, and I haven't
been able to get it running since. The
program starts up, but then I get a
message box saying, "OE Rules file
appears to be corrupted. Cannot use
Rules." Then the program shuts down.
First thing I did was run a check of the
entire harddrive with TechTools Pro. No
corrupted files or sectors were found. I
tried deleting the Rules files and
replacing them with previous back-up
versions. I deleted the preferences files.
I reinstalled Outlook Express, (upgrading
from 5.0.2 in the process.) I even
reinstalled the operating system,
(upgrading from 9.0.2 in the process.)

Any ideas?

Sounds like you've covered all the bases pretty thoroughly thus far.

Would it be a bad time to suggest you might want to try Eudora? :)

Oh, and upgrade to 9.2.2 while you're updating stuff. Just keep running Software Update until it can't find anything else, and if you haven't been upgraded to 9.2.x in the process, go to Apple's site and grab those updates too.
