outlook express 5.0 authentication

Comment:

when i try to send a message using
outlook, "authentication failure 5530"
appears. I have verified my settings with
my service provider, and they assured me
the settings are correct, but it aint workin.
any ideas?

This error may mean that the server you are connecting to, does not support SMTP authentication

so try the following
1. go to Tools - Accounts (your accound of course)

2. Click on Advanced sending options

3. Untick SMTP server requires authentication

try that and tell me if it worked
