OS: OSX 10.2
CPU/Ram: 400MHz G4 / 64 MB RAM
Comment:

I am attempting to do a fresh install of OSX on a new 30 GB IBM drive. I am using a Sony CRX-160E drive (12x8x32, not an Apple drive.) It takes a few minutes to boot (my experience with Linux is that is somewhat normal). The installation starts, and it takes 5 minutes to get from the language selecyion to the next step, at which point it just stays there (but it doesn't look liek it locks up, just real slow.) Clicking on FILE tkaes forever (I have to hold the cursor over it for a minute before it comes up, and when I try to run the disk utility, it loads up, but just says something like searching for IDE devices... ). Any suggestions? Thanks.

If the 64MB of RAM that you put up top is correct,
you desperately need more RAM. Doubling your
RAM is going to make OS X much happier. Adding
even more is all the better.

Yeah, uh, you *do* realise that OS X states all over the box that you need 128MB RAM as an absolute minimum, right?
