I have an i bk with panther. I bought wifey an i mac with
tiger. I tried installing her CD OSX into my i bk...it did not
take! Is it sort of licensed only to work with her machine?

Yes, most install discs nowadays are machine specific.

Yeah, OS-X will not work on other machines other than the one the CD was built for. Unix sucks.
