This is highly important that this get's working. I have tried everything my Network+ training has tought me, and everything points to "it just should work"...

Situation: My Mac mini, and PowerMac G3, both running 10.4.6, have Windows File Sharing enabled.

My domain has TWO user accounts I use, "Brandon", and "Administrator"...

When I log onto my "Administrator" account on an XP computer, or the 2003 domain controller locally, I can access both the Mac mini, and the PowerMac G3.

However, when logging on as "Brandon" (my main account), I can only connect to the PowerMac G3, and if trying to connect to the Mac mini, Windows haults for 6 minutes, then tells me the network path was not found.

I don't know what is going on, but this is crazy. It was working fine last night, no problems. Nothing was changed on the Mac mini or domain controller, and out of the clear blue, it just won't work on the "Brandon" account, but it works fine on the "Administrator" account.

Both accounts have the same permissions...

I have repaired permissions on the Mac also. Still no go...

So much for urgent..

Forget it, it's too late now, I don't need to access the share
anymore.

for those who aren't in any hurry...

Macs by default are in the 'Workgroup' network, so it pays
to have your windows machines changed to Workgroup if
they are in 'MSHome' or whatever.

also, it can take an incredibly long time for the windows
smb protocol to talk to all the machines.

Name length of machine should be kept to 8 characters -
it does help.

restarting a lot helps

patience helps (no pun on your urgency, it's just that way)

You have to have at least one folder shared on the
windows machine

you have to tell OS X to allow windows sharing for a
particular user (hidden away in 10.3, easy in 10.4)
