OS: 9.0
CPU/Ram: G3
Comment:

I gave my old G3 to my boyfriend who's entitled to
free broadband by his employer, apparently.
(turner.com)

Presumably this will be AOL, but I can't seem to
find whether they offer it to OS 9 or whether he will
need an upgrade. Most OS Xers seem to
complain they are the ones left out but does
anyone know where I can find out more? Thanks.

Uhhhhh.....

If the network operating system uses TCP\IP, then yes, broadband will work.

Considering TCP\IP has became a std. from WFWG on up, duh, OS9 has TCP\IP.

Also if the computer has a network card, it shall work.

Yes, you dont need to upgrade

Cheers! This is excellent news, since the
computer has TCP/IP for sure.

Now does anyone know if AOL have a page
explaining which broadband packages are
available to Mac users? I can only find one aimed
at OS X or Windows.

You dont need AOL to use broadband.

DO NOT use AOL with broadband, its just...sad.

All it does it give you the features of AOL at a higher speed.

He gets free broadband if he uses AOL it's in the
small print for Turner employees. This is why I'm
asking. He doesn't like AOL anymore than you or
I.

Sorry.

AOL don't actually do broadband for Macs,
and trust me ur much better off without it,
can cause major headaches.
