Hi,
I wonder whether you could help me out with something. I've got an upgraded beige G3 which has 2 hard drives - one is alone on a IDE channel, the other shares an IDE channel with the CDROM drive. The former drive has three partitions, one of which is OS X (10.2.8), the others are just for storage.I wanted to put OS9.x onto one of the free partitions, and set the Startup Volume as the OS9.1 install CD (in the cdrom drive). I rebooted, and nothing happened. after spending far too long getting nowhere with reboots, disconnecting harddrives etc, i'm at a loss at what to do to get back to OS X.
Is there a way to select startup volumes without being within an operating system?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Tony
