Hey there.
I recently received a Kodak 4832em USB
CDR/RW. It came with Toast 4.1. I
installed the software and plugged in the
drive. Toast keeps looking for the Drive on
the bus. I have been to the apple site, and
I have disabled authoring support, to no
avail. Whats wierd is that system profiler
says that it is there, but toast does not
see it. I have also updated to toast 4.1.3
but nothing works. I need help. please.

You might need Toast 5 to support that drive. Check the web site for Toast.

Go to: Control Panels/Extensions
Manager. Duplicate your current selected
set and rename it something meaningful.
Now disable "USB authoring support" &
"Firewire authoring support" extensions.
Reboot. Fire up TOAST and it should work
just fine. If not I would upgrade Toast as
aforementioned (but still disable these
extensions!)
