NilObjectException... HELP ME PLEAS

there is an error message on my desktop that reads: "and exception of class NilObjectException was not handled, the application mush be shut down" but i cant click "ok" so there is always this annoying message on my screen, whenever i restart it always pops back up again.... HELP PLEASE

In case youve not done it...have you turned off your extensions- it sounds like some startup program is wonky- since ive just spent the better part of the evening having to do just that ( tha mac i just got was overloaded by the previos owner with well over 50 too many extensions- weeding them out to get rid of the error messages was no small task :) just add back the extensions one by one till you find the beast - if its a startup program you wont have to do even that- just clear the startup folder... (hold down shift at boot to stop extensions loading, in case you werent sure ...well you never know..)

I've never played around with OS X but i didn't think it had extensions like previous Mac OS's. I'm probs well very wrong here??
