Networking mac on pc network

That's because Win boxen don't natively understand AppleShare's file protocols. You either need to install PCMacLan on the PCs, install DAVE on the Mac, or upgrade to OS X on the Mac, which can read SMB shares natively.

OSX can Read SMB shares but it still cannot browse the PC network without installing something 3rd party such as Dave for OSX. So unless you know what smb://computername/sharename means its not gonna be something your average user sees as easy.

Hi, I would like to know how to network MAC & PC. I have a PC network consisting with 3 computers which are all networked and share internet using iShare 2.0. Can u get iShare 2.0 for Mac as i would like to connect my mac to the internet (i dont mind if using Mac & cant search for files on PC) i would just like to have internet on the Mac as well as PC

So would I! I want to share the internet over a network between my pc(Win98) and my imac(MacOS9). I need to know what I need, as in software and hardware. Aswell as how to set it up. I have had 3 years experiance as a pc network admin so i know the pc sidee but connecting the mac up seems to be a bit different. Does someone know what to do?
