Hi,
I'm thinking of getting an iMac and a dsl
connection. From some research I have gathered that
it is better to use an ethernet dsl modem
as opposed to a usb modem for dsl.The problem is that the modem would
take up the ethernet port which I was
planning to use to connect the iMac up to
my 7300/200.Is there anyway around this?
The main reason I want to network the
computers is so I can use the internet on
both of them. I don't know if you can even
share the net between an OS 9 (my 7300
runs OS 9) computer and an OS X
computer.Your help would be much appreciated.
Thanks.

I have a pc with a usb wireless nic that connects to a linksys wireless router that has a cable modem connected directly to the wan port. I can get on the internet fine through the xp pc that has the usb wireless nic but when i plug a rj45 into the first port of the router and try plugging that other end of that router into the imac nic the internet isn't working. Its suppose to use dhcp and issue my imac an address but it's not. DHCP is enabled on the mac. I don't visit this site any so if you got the awnser then email me at ahsophist@hotmail.com
