my quadra doesn't shut down...help.

i have a quadra 800 w/ os 7.5.5 and it never fully shuts down properly. i want to be able to shut it down from the desktop/finder via the apple or special menus or even the power key on my keyboard w/o any problems of having to press the power button on the back of my tower. i've ran disk first aid and norton disk doctor and had both confirm that my mac runs fine but still i can't shut it down right. thank you for y
