How can I connect my Mac and PC together so that they can share files! I have a network card that is connected to my cable modem! Can I use that or something else?

There is great software called PC MacLan, its available from most PC or Mac Vendors. You load the software on the PC and connect the mac via ethernet connection to the PC and you should be right. I am not sure but I dont think it is wise to connect your cable modem to the PC and mac cause it may blow up you computers - or cause some damage. If you want, get a cable connection to Ethernet and you and your PC user friend can use the net on the one cable connection.

it won't cause any physical damage. Install the above program and get a crossover ethernet cable to connect to the NIC on the mac and NIC on the PC.

I just managed to share my internet connection from the windows 2000 to the iMac. It's easy all you have to do is set the windows connection to share and the mac to look for the windows machine when you connect....that's it...very easy
