I have an old MacIIsi that the monitor toasted(a Multiscan 15). I bought a Multiscan 15AV and it will start up but only for a few seconds then goes black. I have replaced the PRAM battery as it was super old and have done all the updates etc to the OS. I also have the pecial adaptor required for the IIsi. I have also removed the energy saver extensions and when I go in to change resolution all I can select is 600X480. I have tried reducing the colors from 256 to 16 and still no changes. If I fiddle with the cable conection in the back and get the screen to a blueish haze color it stays and doesn't wink out. Is it probable my little video card is no good?? The other monitor worked fine and was until it went belly up!.Any help would be apprectiated!! thanks :)

Hmm ... try booting without extentions (holding down SHIFT at startup.) It might not like whatever refresh rate the computer is giving it.

Nope, still won't boot up. Ive even started reburning the disc with the OS 7.5 and updating it to 7.5.5. Would I be better off using 7.1 ?? It seems like it should still work but just can't figure out why. Is it because its a Multiscan 15AV vs the Multiscan 15 that I had??
