I have msn messenger 6.0.3 and have the block checker virus..now everytime i log in it automatically sends everyone on my list the block checker url. Every forum I find only has instructions of PC removal. Does anyone know how to remove it from Mac version of msn???

After reading this, and finding out you have a mac, i got quite concerned... I have done some research, and, you are correct, there is absolutely no information on removal from macs..most of the pages i found though were people who considered themselves safe by using macs. Can you confirm that it is, indeed ,on the mac version of Messenger that BlockChecker is sending out those messages (that is, you're not dual booting into windows and sending them from messenger there). As you have an intel mac, that could be a possibility if you also have windows installed. If you can confirm that it is the mac version that is actively infected with this malware, I'll do some considerable amount more research... Doc

I got this stupid virus too. I use a macbook pro w 10.4.11. I dont use windows. got it bc someone w an infected comp's msn auto sent a msg while my wife was using it and she clicked it. Since apple nor microsoft provide a solution for mac users, I am goign to use some of my former apple tech knowledge (from when i worked thru a 3rd party apple support center) and manually remove msn from my mac with the kernel extensions and all. if this solves the issue I will post to u all and give u the path to resolve.
