I have an iMac running OS8.6, I have download MSN Messenger but can't login. Can anyone help? I have set everything correctly. Someone else has successfully logged in under my passport, but I can't, why?

If someone else has logged in under your passport then you have a security problem. I would change my password if'n I wuz you. If you can't login, and someone else has been doing so then maybe they changed your password while they had access. If you "set everything correctly" then there's no other reason why it shouldn't work.

Sorry, I should have been clearer there, I got my cousin to log in for me to see if the accoutns working & it is, I just can't get connected on my iMac. You're right, there is no reason why it shouldn't work, it's got me puzzled But I really need it to communicate with relatives o/s. I was hoping someone else may have had the same problem & fixed it.

msn messenger on the mac is not exactly prime software, it's slow even on imacs and prob be better if you used aol or icq. but, check to see that you installed it ok, even re-install it and delete the preferences in the system folder...just in case. but it is slow to log-in, mine took 5 monites on dial-up just to get in...

Just delete the preferences file. System Folder -> Preferences -> MSN Messenger Preferences I found the same problem on two different machines. It was really anoying. L PS: I even tried updating CarbonLib to v1.5 (no affect)
