Ok here is a weird one. I am trying to get my sisters mac to share a dedicated highspeed internet connection off a pc in the house. Can this be accomplished via wireless or wired? I would have to share the connection from the computer because I cannot put the broadband into a hub or router. Any ideas on this would be greatly appreciated.

Without a second Ethernet card in the PC, you can't do it unless you resort to a hub or router.

Why can't you use a hub or router?

I don't have a problem putting in the second network card in the host PC. The reason why I can't use a hub is because it is a wireless broadband connection (not satelite but antenna type). The connection goes directly into the back of the computer via a pci card. It generates a network connection under network neighborhood so I should be able to share it. Or at least use WinProxy or some sort of proxy software shouldnt I? Or maybe if I upgrade to XP I can share my connection. The part I am ignorant of is if Mac can negotiate proxy servers, etc. I have never used one. Oh the things we go through for our relatives.

Ah, one of THOSE :)

Yeah, you can turn on Windoze Internet Connection Sharing - ask over on the Windoze forum if you're not sure how to configure it.

And LOCK THAT WINDOZE BOX DOWN HARD. We don't need more Code Red-susceptible hosts out there run by people who think they know how to run servers, and it makes life hard for the rest of us. Not that you're one of those people, but just in case :)
