Hi there,
Having a few problems installing MacOSX 10.2 on a desktop beige Power Macintosh G3.

Have had one failed install, where the machine failed to boot after it's final reboot... screen filled with 'Can't Open:' messages.

Now if I boot from CD, the hard disk doesn't even appear - either in Disk Setup, or the installation disk chooser.

Computer will boot into Mac OS 9 no problem, where disk is visible! Help!!

Many Thanks
Simon.

Found out what was wrong - although MacOS X
will install to a slave IDE drive, it won't boot from it
on this type of Mac.

Set both CD and hard disk to 'master'.

Machine boots, but only to grey prohibited sign
after initial apple logo.

Reinstall O/S.

Works fine.
