So, I switched out my hard drive today and while I was
putting the screws back in I was so **** excited that I
ended up accidentally putting one in next to the monitor
port. basically, one of the normal screws (the ones that go
around the edges of the computer) is stuck inside the
screw that holds the monitor cable in place.

i've tried magnets, i've tried duct tape, i've tried silly
putty-like adhesive...i don't know what else to do.

if i take it to apple they will void my warranty. (i figured if
i had problems with anything later down the line i'd just
put the old drive back in and send it off for repair)

now they're gonna know for sure i've tampered with it. i'm
such a dumbass...

at least i didn't drop it or anything. it's just that ****
screw that's stuck in there...i'll never be able to use that
monitor port (or fill in the missing screw) until i get it out
of there.

any ideas?

Have you tried a magnetic screw driver? If you can get the screwdriver bit in the screw head, and try to back it out slowly, it might do the trick.

Did the same stupid thing! Did you find an easy way to
remove the screw?
