Hello. I am working on a Macbook Pro right now, that has a screen which is really dark. I've connected the machine to a CRT and the display works fine, so I know it's not the logic board. I thought it could either be the inverter board or the LCD itself--- so I ordered the cheapest thing--the inverter board. I replaced it, with no results. I took out the inverter board completely, and the problem continues, as if it's not even using it. What does this mean? Is it the LCD? I don't want to order a $300 screen if I don't have to.
Thanks--- Any ideas are appreciated.

Have you tried increasing your screen's brightness under System Preferences > Display ?

I replaced the lcd screen. it works fine now. it wasn't the brightness. I'm a technician... the first thing I did was plug it into an external monitor and check all the setttings... but thanks anyways! it's all good now!
