Mac Word files on PC

If i save a MSWord file on my mac, when i
open it on a PC it doesn't look the same:
just text, no tables, no clip art, plus loads
of extra gobbledygook. I'm using Word 6 for
Mac, and Word 98 for PC.
Can anyone help?

Upgrade Word on the Mac to Word98.
