Help! i need to get it up and running again before thursday, i have some people coming up for a recording session. It starts up just fine, until i get to the desktop. Then it says: time sinchronisation error (error type 41) and then all i can do is restart. Please explain in detail how to recover from this error, and still keep the current configuration. (os 8.6) (mac newbe) and please respond to my e-mail adress too

Boot holding the Shift key down to start without extensions. Then go into the System Folder>Preference Folder. Drag the Finder Preference to the trash (don't empty) and restart normally. If this doesn't correct the problem, boot off the OS CD and drag a new Finder from that CD (System Folder) to the System Folder on your hard drive and restart.

Boot without extensions as Bob said.
Go to the Extensions Manager and turn off the Time Synchronizer extension.
Throw away your Date and Time Preferences file.
Reboot.

Boot from your Mac OS 8.6 CD. Open the Macintosh HD, open System folder, open extensions, drag Multi-User Startup extension to the Extensions (Disabled) folder and restart.
