Hi folks. I to have questions about making our Mac's see the PC's, just put on the network.
We have 5 Mac's all running OS 8.6 or newwer. 6 PC's running Windows ME.
We can print from any computer on the network, but can't see any PC's on the Mac's via the Chooser, nor any Mac's on the PC's.
I did try the TCP/IP thing with no luck.
When I click on AppleShare I only see the Mac's.
I was told Window's ME doesn't offer any networking with Mac's, and that I should look into Windows NT and or a program for the Mac's called "Dave?"
Any thoughts on any of this?

You'll need a third party program on the Mac.
You could use Dave, or a cheaper program from the same company called MacSoho. It only does File Sharing, but since you already are set with printing, it's a good choice. Easier to use than Dave and won't screw with the TCP/IP settings.

I hate to say this, because I like the Mac
so much. There is a software package for
the PC side, which I feel is easier than
Dave. PC Mac/Lan. I have both setup on
my network and I like PC Mac/Lan better.
