Mac to PC email transfer problem

I've got aproblem - I need to get 250Mb worth of email from Outlook Express 4.5 on a Mac (OS 8.6) to a Win 98 PC. I've tried copying it directly over to the PC, but neither OE 5 or Outlook 2000 will recognise the Mac format when I try to import. I've tried converting the whole thing to Eudora and Netscape, but I still get the same problem. The PC only looks for a PC formatted email database when you try to import. Anyone out there got any ideas?
