You can search on http://www.versiontracker.com for freeware.
.exe files are PC only. You would have to run VirtualPC, a PC emulator to use .exe files.

if i download mac software from a site on a PC, put it onto a floppy, then stick the floppy in the mac's floppy drive, how am i supposed to install it as the software i've downloaded is 1 single .BIN file!

A .bin file is a stuffed (compressed) file. You need Stuffit expander to decompress it on the Mac.

Summary: Well if you want to run MAC software, the only practical option is to get a Mac. If you have the room, you might just set it up as another computer (with it's own monitor and such) and connect it wire...
