I bought my iBook new about a year ago. I
have tried using the OS X after
spending my time using 9.2 and have
had nothing but problems with it even
after reloading the OS X from commercial
discs--or trying to--several times.
I was wondering if anyone would know
what the following problems might be
attributed to:1. My system will not actually shut off the
computer whether I use forced
shut off or simple shut off or restart. Even
if I have an OS X or 9.1 or 9.2
commercial disc in the disc bay, it will not
restart with the disc while
pressing "c". All the icons and menus go
off but the screen stays blue and
when I shut it the little light on the front of
my iBook keeps blinking2. I can not change the start-up disc back
to 9.13. When I put CDs and DVDs in the disc
bay, the disc icon does not show up
on my desk top and the DVD player will
not play any DVDs. If I put a OS X disc in
to retart and reload it, it will not recognise
the disc so an upgrade to 10.2 willnot
work either.I have had no luck using the 9.2 upgrade
CD. It simply will not update from
the CD.Any help would be appreciated,

I'm hoping "about a year ago" means "less than a year ago" because it sounds like your iBook has a hardware problem. Is the firmware up-to-date?
