Subject: Mac OS X Install Problem
OS: Mac OS 9.2.2
CPU/Ram: 333 Mhz PPC G3/256 MB RAM
Comment:

I have a 333 Mhz PowerBook G3 w/ 256 MB RAM and a 6.03 GB HD. Whenever I try to install OS 10.1, I can boot from the CD and it will start the installer, but right after you select the language the installer will quit and I will get the message "Installer has unexpectly quit. (Error 0)". Also I have tried to install OS 10.2 and I boot from the CD and right after the grey apple shows up, the screen distorts and the system halts. Can anyone help?

Hi,
I had the same problem and the solution was to connect the original Apple-mouse. Explanation: The OSX-Installer seems to give that message and breaks down if a not-Apple-mouse is connected. I had that experience with a Macally- and a Logitech-Mouse.

I don't have ADB on the PowerBook. Just USB and I don't have an apple mouse that's USB. When it gives that message, I don't have any mouse or keyboard connected. I just use the internal keyboard and touchpad.
