The question you've asked can't be answered. You simply can't compare Mac OS and Win2000.
Both are totally different operating systems.

If you wanna switch from PC to Apple I would reccomend to visit www.apple.com/macosx
There you can see what OSX will bring you.

People who are used to windows have a difficult time with apple and vice versa.

The choice is always personal. There is no better operating system.

If you're considering a switch...DO IT!
My personal experience:
I was "raised" on windows. My kids' (through
school) are mostly mac addicts. We have the
luxury of having two MACS and one PC at home,
and I find myself using a MAC about 99% of the
time. OS 10.2.2 rules. Do yourself a favor and
check out the wonders of OSX on the apple
website.

Hy,
I'm running Macs since years and my
advice is very positive.
Advantages : more simple to use
specially if you are not adviced in
computers (even if Windows follows very
close to it now), complete (you dont' have
to install additional cars like sound
cards, etc) and prices go down now, and
new powerfull X system (I dont use yet
beacuse I dont want to ny again software
for it).
Inconvenients : less hard and soft than for
PC, processors less fast tan PC.
But the balance is for Mac if you don't
want to tune yourself system and
hardware.
