Subject: Mac OS 8.5 on Power PC
OS: 8.0
CPU/Ram: 9600

Hello
Does anybody know how I can upgrade my Power-PC
9600/120 from OS 8.0 to OS 8.5 or better without using a
new processor? I own OS 8.5.1 for G3, but (of course) it
wonŽt install on the old Power-PC.

Search the apple support site using either "9600"
or "OS 8.5". I know they have a page with a table
showing which machines/processors can run
which OSs - I can't remember the URL, but this
search should probably find it.

You can go to eBay and buy a retail copy of Mac OS 8.5. That'll do it.

8.5 is NOT free from Apple.
