How can I setup a Macintosh G3 to login to an NT 4.0 server on IP only?
I read somewhere you must install appletalk services for the mac in your NT box, or i connect my mac on the network using DHCP and i run Virtual PC...

If you are using IP ONLY then you can ONLY use TCP/IP services (FTP, HTTP, etc). If you want to mount an NT volume on the Mac you need to run Services for Macintosh and use AppleShare over IP (make sure the AppleShare extension is 3.7.4 or l

What if Macintosh services is installed on the NT server, but my MAC is not in the same location and appletalk is not routed through the router and I don't want to run virtual PC. Is there any other way to connect to the server using IP only, no appletalk??

Sorry, even the IP for MAC OS 9 is appletalk over TCP/IP. Your gona have to install SFM on the server/
