You will need the apropiate driver installed on the PC, that's all.
Our local University has 150 IBM's with Apple monitors.. If you have any problems then let me know and I check how they did it for you

Bas, You idiot.....
Henry asked about an ADAPTER, which you DO need to connect all but the newest Apple monitors to a PC vid port. And the likelyhood that your school has 150 PC's with APPLE monitors is, let me say,...NOT LIKELY.

No need to get rude Homer!!
We are just trying to help each other here!!
About you having doubts of me telling the truth... your problem.
But I invite you to have a look at our local UNIVERSITY http://www.ecu.edu.au
You actually will find much more then 150 sets there..
We have several Lab's for our Computer Science Units and several Lab's with G4's for our Multimedia school..
All the computers in the main Lab are IBM's with Apple monitors!
If you have problems believing that then you have most likely not seen a decent Computer science school from the inside yourself!!
Accusing someone of lying is pretty stupit if you don't know the facts!!!Like I said before, we are just trying to help each other here... let's keep it NICE okay??

You do need a Mac to PC (VGA) monitor adapter. Most likely PC-type HD 15 male to Mac DB15 female. Doing a quick search on Yahoo Shopping I see one for $13.
And my 2 cents about Homer's response: Homer, it's true that a lot of universities have Mac equipment. Apple used to give great deals to educational facilities for their stuff, and when the world went PC there was a lot of legacy Mac equipment around. So a lot of universities have made use of it however they can. (And are also using Macs a lot more now than five years ago.) Therefore it wouldn't be unusual to find PCs with Mac monitors. And you should keep it friendly here. Thanks.

I've used several mac monitors on my PC but you do need an adaptor. I have one marked up 'MITSUBISHI AD-A205', it has little dip switches which you need to set depending on the size and resolution of your monitor. (think this is for frequency/sync)
It sounds like Emil's problem is that the adaptor isn't configurable and is set to the wrong settings.
The adaptors come with Lacie D2 monitors and as the majority of our macs are G3 or G4 we didn't need them.

Before you guys start calling each other
"stupit" and use terms like "likelyhood",
try some very basic spelling, eh?
Sorry, if perfection is your claim, don't
leave-out spelling and claim it to be a
casualty of progress.

I'm thinking about getting an AppleVison 1710 17" monitor for my PC system. Anyone knows of a good adapter for this monitor? Thanks.

This discussion has been very helpful. I have an Applevision 1710 that I want to hook up to my PC. Q: Does anyone know where to download the PC drivers?
