Hi, a friend of mine has a

Apple Mac Pro (4-core) 1st Gen. - 2006-2007 Desktop/PC

Sorry i do not know much about Macs and therefore not sure if this information is enough to determine what ram will fit or not.

However the manual says

667Mhz, FB-DIMM
72-bit wide , 240pin module
36 devices maxium per DIMM
Error-correcting code (ECC)

Crucial gives him the following options, but what i want to know is, is this the memory he is limited to? can he get any better/faster?

http://www.crucial.com/uk/store/lis...

i dont know much about this so any advice/help will be appreciated.

He does a lot of graphical design so fast performace memory is what he wants, 8gig would be ideal. can anyone recommend some memory, or is the one on the crucial site good?

Thanks,

I'd go by the Apple specs to buy the RAM to the letter. FB-RAM isn't cheap.
