i'm running a xp pc network with ics(don't
want router) and apart from some minor
problems with the mtu settings the all run
fine giving me full download speed. I
recently go a mac and am trying to get it
hooked up to this network. Despite all my
efforts(i even got a program to change the
mtu settings for the mac) pages will take
up to half an hour to load(if they load at
all) and after a while it just jams my
modem forcing me to shut off the modem
and restarting it. I have tried the TCP/Ip
settings more times than i can count, i
know it's not the nic or the cable, because
i can do an ftp connection to any of the
pc's on the network. Lan is fine... it's when
the internet gets involved. i have seen a
few other posts where people have
similar problems... but none that have an
answer yet.

Is ICS putting out a DHCP signal? If so, try using it to assign the Mac a static IP instead.
