Comment: My mac 630 computer was working fine until I decided to try and connect a parallel port connector to the SCSI port connector on the printer. I thought you could do that instead of using the serial port but I guess I was wrong. Not only did the Mac not startup but I smelled a little burning though I didn't visually notice anything or hear anything so I don't think I fried my motherboard. But now when I try to startup, it gets hung up right at the beginning of the startup window and I can't even get on the computer with the shift key extensions off. I tried to do the PRAM thing but that didn't make any difference. Is there some way I can fix this Mac or is this computer completely fried.

Reply: (edit) I just ran Disk First Aid and got to the desktop and I repaired some minor things but it still hangs on startup.

Reply: (edit) I did the command option thing on startup with Disk First Aid, now it ejects Disk First Aid on startup and then hangs again so there is now no way I can even get to the Desktop.
